Artist Statement
"My work is deeply inspired by punk music and visual artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat and Kurt Schwitters. Adopting the innovations introduced by the Dadaists and Street Art, I proposes a new form of Primitivism, that takes shape through contemporary collages, drawings and assemblages. Determined to communicate my various views of the world, my work deals with the themes of mental health, climate change, injustices and present political issues."
Artist Biography
Daniel Gardienr is a self taught artist who discovered art through his own battles with mental health and physical pain caused by my chronic fatigue syndrome. He concentrates on found object work because he enjoys breathing life into new materials and using them to highlight political causes close to himself and those he see's around him in society.
