Mark Mayes (he/him), the artist behind FirmGently, was also one of Indian Futures’ initial artists. He’s particularly interested in how our visual systems work and how we can be “tripped up”. A lot of his artwork consists of extremely messy strokes that turn out to be very realistic paintings. Art Apart shows some of his abstract and realistic nature prints.
